Going into 2020, Medicare changed the rule for insurance companies covering the Part B deductible. If a person is new to Medicare starting in 2020, they will be required to pay the Part B deductible before Medicare or your Medigap Plan will start to pay. Members with Part B Coverage before 2020 will have no changes and if they change plans, they will be able to keep their Part B deductible through their new plan.
